At Novus, we are now seeking talented education professional to join our education team

Working within Novus at HMYOI Cookham Wood, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and must be able to think creatively to help learners achieve personal goals and targets in various creative projects.

In this role, you will work and be supported by our amazing team of dedicated professionals to mentor our prisoners to develop their Radio skills, which will in turn help them to secure future employment opportunities post-release.

You will need patience, passion and understanding in your approach to our learners who want to learn and improve.

Working in a prison is different to a mainstream education facility. We work with a wide range of people in custody supporting them to make a difference to their lives. We operate with security at the forefront of what we do, so our class sizes are small to maximise supportive delivery. To aid the work that you would be engaged in you also will be supported by Learning Support Practitioners and prisoner peer mentors who will support with one to one when and where required. Working with our Prison Officer colleagues we have a team on hand to ensure that the support we offer runs smoothly. We always try to cater to a learner's individual needs and ensure we create a positive learner experience. Time will be given to planning and your local education manager is always on hand to provide support as and when needed.

**This role will**:
Deliver skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours for working in the Radio and TV/Media Industry

- Video editing software
- Film and Photography

- Have experience in working in or delivering radio and TV/media.

What we need from you

**Essential**

Level 1 (minimum entry level)
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in the relevant vocational area
- Willing to gain PTLLS within 6 months
- Commitment to gain an assessor award required by relevant Awarding Bodies, within one year
- Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year
- Gain, hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check Desirable Level 2 (minimum for progression to Level 2 salary)
- Hold a qualification to allow the delivery of accreditation in the relevant vocational area to Level
- Hold an Assessor award required by Awarding Bodies, if relevant
- Hold PTLLS qualification
- To hold or commit to gain an Internal Verifier award within 1 year (dependent upon course accreditation requirements)
- Hold at least a Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to commit to gaining the qualification(s) within 1 year
- Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
