**Assistant**, you'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our Branch. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.
**Part Time - Hours of work**: Monday - Friday 1:30pm - 5pm - 1in2 Saturdays 8am - 12pm
**What will I be doing?**
Not one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:
- Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.- You will be based on the counter, processing our customers orders, preparing quotes, keeping the shop floor clean and tidy, and putting away any stock that comes in.- You will also book in our supplier deliveries.
- You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
- You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
- Full training is provided in order to drive our forklifts.- Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment
My name is Lucy, and I currently work as part of the recruitment team here at Travis Perkins, but I started off working in my local branch on a Development Programme when I was 26 years old, to which I became a Yard Manager at my branch. I didn't really know what to expect, but since joining, I have been supported by an amazing team that have an unrivalled passion to provide an excellent level of service to our local customers (typically builders and tradespeople) and I’m now working in a completely different area of the business in an area that I love.
**Training on offer**:
As part of your role you will enrol onto a 12 month programme, you will gain a Level 2 Trade Supplier qualification. All of your learning is “on the job”, Travis Perkins values a work-life balance and there is no need for you to complete any of your work “out of hours”. The training consists of a number of modules and you will have a dedicated coach that will guide you throughout, as well as being supported by your line manager (and in my case a really supportive team who I consider to be my friends)
Just remember you are
**never too old** for an development programme, I joined Travis Perkins as an Apprentice at the age of 26.
**Once your development programme is completed you will remain a valued member of the team.**
