THG Finance is a dynamic and evolving team that covers all areas of finance, including central functions such as accounts receivable and payable, treasury, tax, and internal audit, as well as specific commercial teams for each of our divisions; Beauty, Tech, Consumer, Health, and Brands. **About the Role**

Reporting into an AP Manager, the primary responsibility of the Accounting Team Leader is to ensure that the Accounting team carry out all responsibilities as per company policy and right first-time approach.

The Accounting Team Leader will manage a number of Accountants (Management and Assistants) and will be responsible for ownership of a number of P&L accounts, accruals/prepayments, invoice coding, company credit cards, expenses and travel expenses reconciliation, plus additional ad hoc duties as and when required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Own the month-end process for P&L and BS, demonstrating a keen eye for detail.
- Ensure strong financial controls are in place and continue to challenge and improve the controls in place.
- Support the wider team with their deliverables and ongoing development.
- Ensure a holistic view of performance to provide insight to support commercial analysis on trading performance.
- A proactive approach to month-end and financial planning.
- Take part in divisional finance and internal stakeholder meetings as and when required
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Identify recurring issues and potential room for improvement within current processes
- Strive to achieve best practice performance levels against agreed set of KPIs

**Requirements**:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or working towards.
- Business partnering & cost accounting experience
- Proven, hands-on experience of management reporting in a large and complex business.
- Analytical, quick to grasp the fundamentals of a business and have strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with Senior Stakeholders
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-moving and changeable environment.
- Fluent in English both verbal and written. Another European Language (French, Polish, Swedish, German) an advantage but not essential
- Office IT literate, preferably with intermediate MS Excel skills
- Sage or any other ERP systems knowledge
- Maintaining a can do, positive attitude with a focus on high level internal and external customer service
