Status: Permanent

**Salary**: £31,000- £35,000
Hours: Days only with Hybrid flexible opportunity
Location: South Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Two Technical Author's required to create industry sensitive documents for a leading, international engineering and manufacturing group who operate in more than a dozen countries. 2x Technical Author required to join and strengthen the Engineering/ Defence team, covering sites across the world.
The successful Technical Author x2 will be responsible for the following:
Create, maintain and submit technical and project documents.
Document submission via customer or internal portals.
Create and maintain project tracking documents; use internal portals and timelines.
Liaising with all project managers, procurement, stakeholders and members of the documentation and engineering teams; report to the Lead Technical Documentation Author.
Assist in the delivery of documentation and work to strict project deadlines.
Produce, update and deliver reports on document deliverables both face to face and or via Teams.
The successful Technical Author will have previous experience of developing, implementing and delivering technical publications and understand engineering and manufacturing processes.
Good understanding of engineering drawings and project design documents
A clear understanding of BOM structures, breakdowns, spare part recommendations and Integrated Logistic Support.
Liaise with other departments to gather all information, drawings, parts lists etc required to produce the manuals. Collate any stakeholder information required for use in manuals, certificates, instructions relevant to the finished products.
Assist the project design and delivery department with other duties as required
Experience 'on the job' in a technical document writing role is more relevant than academic experience for this role
Key attributes of a successful Technical Author will be (but not limited to):
Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria.
Good technical problem solver and strong eye for detail Ability to work unsupervised to deadlines and adhere to schedules.
Strong IT experience in Microsoft Office products.
Excellent time management, communication and effective team skills.
Ideally the Technical Author will have experience in the following, but this is not essential to apply:
Prior experience or an understanding of FMEA and FMECA
Competence using project tracking tools and documentation management tools.
Prior industry experience working with defence, military or sub sea products would be beneficial.
