We opened our flagship bakery school in Borough Market in 2014 to show the public just how easy baking good bread can be. Since early 2020, Bread Ahead Bakery School has reached thousands of homes through our online baking classes which have become a treasured part of kitchens all over the world We’ve grown to become a destination for both Londoners and foodies across the globe.

But we are just getting started With more London locations planned alongside further international expansion, we’re at an exciting point in the development of our team and we’re looking for like-minded people who are as passionate about food and hospitality as we are.

**About the role**
- Selection activities are planned for week commencing 3rd October 2022._

As a hands on leader of the bakery and production team at our original bakery location, Borough Market, you will assist in daily production getting to know our recipes and schedules alongside producing and monitoring staffing according to production needs for the bakery team. You will organise supplies according to business needs to deliver high craft products accordingly to Bread Ahead standards as well as ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the bakery at all times. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on recipe development and testing.

**Job Responsibilities / Summary**:

- Enjoy maintaining the standards of quality, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping within their area appropriate to a quality production kitchen
- Ability to train and develop junior bakers to a high level in laminating, shaping and baking
- Work alongside Head Baker to develop new products fitting with the Bread Ahead brand
- Maintain cleanliness across production areas
- Maintain stock levels, stock rotation and highlight ordering where necessary
- Keep all HACCP documents up to date across all sections
- Day time shift patterns
- Paid overtime available when required
- Opportunity to cross train in our Bread production site in our Wembley bakery

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Experience in a comparative role with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Strong understanding of lamination and enriched doughs
- Experience in high-quality, high volume environment
- Experience leading a team and production in Head Bakers absence
- Experience managing and maintaining health and hygiene practices
- Professional culinary education desired
- Diplomas and certificates in the culinary arts desired but not essential
- Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability
- Oral and written fluency in English
- Confidence in multitasking and following instructions
- A passion to be creative and develop themselves
- **Right to work and reside in the UK a must**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
