What Are We Looking For?
Our Chemical Dosing team in Dalgety Bay is looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join us on a permanent basis. Your main role will be to allocate work on a day to day basis to M&E Operatives and Apprentices within the workshop environment, ensuring that all work undertaken is completed with due regard for quality, productivity and safety. To liaise with and keep the M&E Coordinators / Production Team informed of progress while undertaking the job holder’s own trade skills.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
- Instruct, direct, control and allocate work to M&E trade operatives and apprentices on a daily basis, paying particular attention to quality, productivity and safety. This will be in liaison with the M&E Coordinators and Production Team
- Set out expectations with M&E Chargehands through job packs, checking that works are being carried out to timescale.
- Ensure all quality checks are completed, with any issues addressed and rectified before completed products are dispatched from the workshop.
- Oversee lifting operations within the yard/workshop, overseeing any external contractors as required.
- Assist with the onboarding of new M&E Operatives, including completion of task-specific training for workshop machinery.
- Record and authorise man hours/time sheets in accordance with RSE procedures.
- Obtain and record data for Health & Safety stats (near miss/lost time etc)
- Where required manage toolbox talks, permits, review MS & RA.
- Compile MS & RA as per Company procedure for the required works
- Assess tasks ensuring that appropriate certification and equipment is available.
- Ensure that all necessary administration work is completed and returned in accordance with Company and client procedures.
- Monitor apprentices to ensure their skills are progressing in line with expectations.
- Complete and deliver any required QA documentation.
What Do You Need?
- Experience within the plastic fabrication industry
- Exposure to and in-depth knowledge of both M&E trades
- Time served fully qualified in their relevant trade City & Guilds, MA or equivalent with relevant trade cards
- 3 years proven post qualification experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Must be flexible and willing to travel
- Must have a sound knowledge and understanding of Environmental, Quality and Health & Safety disciplines
- First Aid at work 3 day
- Full UK Driving Licence
