Junior Clinical Fellow

You will have completed a Foundation programme (or equivalent) and be fully registered with a licence to practice. Ideally you will have a minimum of 4 months of experience in Emergency Medicine in the UK and more than 6 months of NHS experience
Salford Royal has Major Trauma Centre accreditation as part of the Greater Manchester Trauma Collaborative, receiving patients with major trauma from the whole of the Greater Manchester conurbation. It is a regional Neurosurgical and Hyperacute Stroke Centre, a hub for regional Renal services and a national centre for Intestinal Failure.

We have close links to Manchester and Sheffield Universities, and to the Trauma Audit Research Network. We are proud of our Departmental teaching programme, which includes simulation training and monthly journal club. We have an active Quality Improvement and Audit programme which you would be expected to be involved with.
Children are assessed and managed in a separate but co-located Paediatric ED with adjoining short stay observation unit (The PANDA unit). The PANDA unit is staffed separately from the adult Emergency Department. However, ED clinicians will be expected to be able to manage paediatric presentations as part of this role.
The post is for 6 months only, but with potential for extension beyond this depending on progression, and if mutually desired and agreed.
