**The Role**

To deliver a quality, resident-focused, comprehensive, and co-ordinated Disrepair Surveyor Service working heavily and collaboratively with internal and external legal Counsel, external contractors, and internal departments. To ensure that a high-quality service is delivered to help with the groups efficiencies without compromise to comply with relevant policies, legal and regulatory requirements. To be proactive in monitoring performance, meeting KPI's and taking decisive action to ensure issues are addressed. Can address and resolve complex disrepair cases, within a timely manner.

Ability and oversight to be able to challenge any claim where deemed necessary, accountable for financial forecasting within existing protocols and record keeping; raising payments to all parties; travel to site and provide comprehensive condition survey reports that can be held up to scrutiny should a case go to court; follow through all work to ensure it has been completed;
negotiation skills relating to settlement and compensation.

**The location**

You'll be based at one of our main offices in either Farringdon, Croydon, Maidstone or Sittingbourne, with the option for working in a hybrid way when appropriate and as agreed with your manager.

**What you'll do**
- Working in partnership with a dynamic and proactive team of surveyors, coordinators, RLOs and team assistants to ensure we meet our targets on a daily basis. Reporting to the Senior Disrepair Manager
- Committed to putting residents first, creating a personalised experience throughout all stages of the resident journey.
- Take ownership and deliver excellent repair and empty home services, value for money and achieve results.
- Contribute to the achievement of performance indicators and work with my colleagues to ensure that my area exceeds targets.
- Deliver continuous improvements to services, managing change effectively.
- Understand the importance of credible, up to date resident and property data and prioritise improving the quality of our data to enable resident centric services.
- Work in conjunction with the Risk Management framework, encompassing Health and Safety, Data Protection and demonstrate effective controls and compliance with all statutory, regulatory and policy requirements relating to the management of the business.

**What you need**
- Membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent level experience
- Experienced property maintenance professional with detailed knowledge of housing construction, disrepair & maintenance service delivery
- Experience in maintenance surveying with ability to: diagnose complex site problems; propose practical solutions; prepare costed specifications; manage contracts and project manage to resolution, contractors, operatives and site works; demonstrate excellent awareness of costs, value for money and health & safety risks.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice
- Knowledge of the legal disrepair process
