Sheridan Maine has teamed up with a Bournemouth-based organisation to recruit a skilled Accounts Assistant, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals with an interest in accounts and seeking the next step in their career.
In this position, you will report to the Accounts Manager and may need to visit the London and Southampton offices on occasion.

**Your responsibilities as the Accounts Assistant will include**:
Billing Functions:

- Support in preparing fee invoices, adhering to their policies, and handling write-off invoices on two accounting systems
- Process time transfers as needed
- Prepare statements
- Address any general billing queries that may arise

Finance Functions:

- Organise daily mail distribution among sub-teams
- Handle cheque receipts and banking preparations
- Issue cheques when necessary
- Provide cover for other Accounts Assistants, including money out and purchase ledger responsibilities
- Accept credit card payments over the phone
- Process transactions related to specific matters
- Advocate and embody their core values, emphasising clients, people, teamwork, and progressiveness

**The successful Accounts Assistant will require the following skills and experience**:

- Obtained GCSE or an equivalent qualification in English Language and Maths
- Possess accounts experience
- Previous exposure to professional services or a legal environment is advantageous
- Exhibit trong numerical skills
- Essential team player with the ability to connect with others effectively
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication
- Highly organised and efficient, capable of managing time and prioritising tasks effectively, with the flexibility to adapt when necessary
- Self-motivated and flexible attitude to work and time, being conscientious with a common sense approach to work
- Professional and trustworthy, with a tactful and discreet approach, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines, while paying meticulous attention to detail
- Effective diary management skills
- Polite, friendly, and confident in telephone communication
- Eager and open to learning new skills and knowledge
