Have you just finished your apprenticeship and now looking for your first full time, permanent opportunity? Or, you might be studying AAT and looking for a role in accounts that offers a chance to learn, then this might be the perfect role for you.
Our client is based in Derby town centre, and they are looking for a young, bright and motivated individual who is looking for their first step into a professional career. There will be fantastic training and ongoing career development opportunities.
This is a full-time role, office based working Monday - Friday 9am-5pm with an hour's lunch. You don't need any experience, as full training will be provided however it would be beneficial if you have at least 6 months experience working in an office environment.My client operate a very friendly office, where everyone helps each other.
The Accounts assistant will be responsible for:

- Daily till reconciliations for branches - including resolving/reporting discrepancies.
- Handle sales ledger queries for major client - receive queries from sites nationwide, investigate issues and resolve. Also includes monthly reconciliation of remittance advice and querying of under/over payments.
- Answering calls to the accounts department and wider business, includes taking payments from customers over the phone and logging of any queries.
- Scanning of sales proof of deliveries (POD's) and filing of same.
- General office admin including filing, archiving, providing/requesting copy documentation
- Involvement with stock takes
- Provide cover/assistance for processing sales invoices, including identifying discrepancies to purchase/sales orders
- Provide cover/assistance with the registering of supplier invoices and reconciliation of monthly supplier statements
- Ad hoc cover for senior team members and further responsibilities once familiar with business and systems.
