Field Service Engineer/Mobile Support Technician - Fenestration Industry

Job Description:

This position will be a crucial part of our service team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our fenestration machinery across various sites in the UK. The successful candidate will have a robust background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with a particular understanding of servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices.

Responsibilities:

* Install, maintain, and repair a variety of fenestration equipment at customer sites across Ireland with the potential for some occasional work in Scotland/England

* Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults, including issues related to servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices

* Drive tuning and calibration of machinery to ensure optimal performance

* Provide technical assistance and support to customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction

* Conduct regular preventive maintenance checks and services to maintain the optimal functioning of equipment

* Work closely with our engineering team to report issues and suggest improvements

* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policy and safety standards

Qualifications/Skills:

* Proven experience as a Service Engineer, ideally within the fenestration machinery industry is ideal but not essential as full training is provided

* Must have a strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices

* Proficiency in drive tuning and calibration of machinery

* A strong level of business acumen

* An understanding of fenestration (or similar) manufacturing processes and machinery

* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering is preferred

* Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail

* Ability to work independently and travel frequently across Ireland

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers

* Full UK driving licence
