Our client is an award winning specialist contractor that delivers a groundworks and civil engineering service to the built environment as a sub-contractor and principal contractor. The company turns over circa £30m, the client base is established with Tier 1 main contractors and developers, relationships with these clients are excellent. The company is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager.

Duties will include:

Identify and pursue new business prospects within the industry
Producing a weekly tender report.
Chair a monthly BD meeting to discuss, Pre-Construction Report review, Upcoming frameworks, Marketing & Social Value, Events
Identify potential target clients and make contact to arrange meetings, or get an understanding of their future pipeline.
Along with a bid coordinator, update any opportunities/tenders on to a CRM system
Identify events for BD
Liaise with an external marketing consultancy/manage marketing
Assist with PQQ's, ensure that PQQ's have been filled in and are returned on time
Organising client days out.
Provide support to the team by undertaking additional duties as necessary to meet business objectives.Experience Required:

Demonstrated experience in Business Development.
Knowledge of the construction/groundworks/civil engineering industry
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional negotiation and closing abilities.
A proven ability to cultivate and sustain long-term client relationships.
Self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Proficiency in using IT, Microsoft Word, Excel I have worked with this contractor for over 10 years and would highly recommend them. They have a strong senior management team in place with directors heading up each division / department and not only are each of these key individuals excellent in their own right, but as the core of the business, they work excellently together to make sure the business stays on the right path, keeps progressing and most importantly, that they always take care of their people. Their staff retention is so strong, that I have never had someone join the business that hasn't stayed there for the long term. They treat their people right, pay them well and work with them to get the results the business needs
