Adolescence & Edge of Care
A Local Authority in the South East has established a pioneering service designed to address emergent challenges among adolescents aged 11-17. This role is integral to the delivery of this service, focusing on engaging with young individuals at the edge of care, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviours or at risk of exploitation.
Key Features:
Regional Placement: This position is situated in the South East region, within a Local Authority recognised for its innovative approach to adolescent care.
Specialised Focus: The team is dedicated to working with adolescents and service users on the periphery of care, addressing complex engagement challenges.
Collaborative Practice: You will collaborate with Functional Family Therapists (FFT) and engage in a novel trial aimed at supporting youths potentially affected by gang exploitation.
Multidisciplinary Integration: Be part of a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team that incorporates diverse expertise to deliver holistic support.
Outstanding Quality: The Local Authority received an 'Outstanding' rating in its last Ofsted inspection (2018), reflecting exceptional service quality and effectiveness.
Resource-Rich Environment: Access a well-equipped Local Authority with comprehensive resources for both Social Workers and service users, enhancing case management and support.
Supportive Framework: Managers ensure that Social Workers have the necessary time, expertise, and capacity to build meaningful relationships with children and young people, thereby optimising professional practice.
Effective Caseload Management: As a Senior Practitioner or Practice Manager, you will play a key role in case allocation and management, ensuring efficient and effective case handling.
Proactive Service Model: The service employs proactive, empowering methodologies to prevent adolescents from becoming Looked After, demonstrating a positive impact as noted in the Ofsted report.
Innovative Initiatives: Contribute to the development of a sophisticated exploitation mapping process aimed at enhancing the identification and intervention of at-risk youths.
Opportunity Summary:
This position offers an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned practitioner to join a high-performing, innovative Local Authority that achieved an 'Outstanding' rating in its 2018 Ofsted inspection. The newly established team is designed to tackle emerging issues among adolescents, with a focus on prevention and specialised support. The team has forged a partnership with an organisation specialising in psychological support for this demographic, further enhancing its effectiveness.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will coordinate multi-agency responses for youths at risk of exploitation and play a critical role in delivering integrated support services.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in a similar role is required.
Candidates with frontline experience in Assessment, Child Protection, and Looked After Children (LAC) teams are particularly encouraged to apply.
