The Opportunity
Due to increased project expansion, our client is currently seeking an experienced Control & Instrumentation engineer to lead all projects across the project lifecycle from bid generation through to concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning.

This role will be held at one of offices (Gloucester, Newcastle, Warrington, Bristol or Knutsford). We put flexibility at the heart of what we do and we’re happy to consider flexible working patterns.

The role 
As a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating a multi-discipline engineering team to help deliver complex engineering solutions in terms of time, cost and quality on projects of varying sizes. If you’re familiar with project delivery, you’ll know that they have plenty of moving parts and complexity, which is why you’ll be working alongside our operations Managers and with our Framework Service team too. 

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Work on systems integration, testing and validation of PLC, SCADA and simulator systems.
Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
Produce high-quality technical reports.
Simplify complex problems and build and maintain valuable relationships.
You will work closely with colleagues to support activities that offer the best service to the client.  Through your interactions, you’ll be able to gather useful intelligence on client needs and work with the team to deliver innovative solutions. 
You will use strong communication and engagement skills to help achieve client, people and business outcomes, working with your team and peers that are based in different locations across the UK.

Degree qualified or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience) in C&I or another relevant discipline.
Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer. Status with a relevant professional body (we will support you)
An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g.,IEC (phone number removed),ONR SAPs / TAGS).
Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment,verification,testing,installation,commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems.
Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment.
Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress.
Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders and committed to Continuous Professional Development.Get in touch now
