Our client specialises in a range of treatments covering Non-Destructive Testing, Electroplating, Anodising, Painting and Process Evaluation.

In this role you will be working under the direction and guidance of the Health and Safety Manager (HSM). Tasks will include (but are not limited to) the following:

*

Maintaining systems and databases to ensure comprehensive compliance across all health and safety areas, including accident and incident reporting, audit results, monthly safety checks, and action plan tracking.

*

Undertaking workplace inspections and observation of working practices.

*

Producing detailed health and safety reports for senior management, highlighting key metrics, incidents, and compliance status.

*

Coordinating and administering health and safety training programs for all employees, liaising with Human Resources and the Quality Management Team to ensure records of such training are maintained and readily available.

*

Supporting the creation, distribution, and delivery of safety materials, including posters, newsletters, and toolbox talks.

*

Assisting in the development and revision of health and safety procedures as directed by the HSM.

*

Providing support and administration for emergency response strategies, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid readiness.

*

Ensuring all accidents and near misses are properly recorded and investigated and that corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.

*

Working with appointed HS&E consultants to create schedules and ensure all risk assessments, fire risk assessments, audits, and other country-specific surveys are carried out as planned.

*

Following up with departments on any remediation actions required after Health & Safety Executive / Environment Agency visits.

*

Working closely with other departments, and key business partners to better detect, investigate, report, and resolve internal and external safety events.

*

Monitoring and interpreting legislative updates related to HS&E, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.

*

Any other HS&E tasks deemed appropriate by the company.

Person Specification

*

Proven experience as a Safety Assistant / Advisor or a similar role.

*

NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Level 3 Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and Technical IOSH membership as a minimum.

*

Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.

*

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

*

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

*

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.

*

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite. Excel knowledge is essential.

*

Ability to conduct training sessions and present information clearly and effectively.

*

Strong attention to detail.

*

Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.

*

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

*

High level of integrity and commitment to safety.

As this position as classed as a permanent, part time role you will have the choice to work any of the following shift patterns:

Monday to Wednesday 8am to 4.45pm or Tuesday to Thursday 8am to 4.45pm
