Assistant Accountant required for a gloabl compnay in Southend-on-Sea.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

• Process vendor invoices and other payment requests, verify the accuracy of payment information in a timely and accurate manner.

• Handle employee expense requests in accordance with company policies.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.

• Handle invoice coding into the accounting system, ensure proper authorization and approval.

• Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related issues.

• Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes for accrual and related reconciliations.

• Perform other responsibilities as assigned, working as part of the finance team. VAT Statutory Reporting:

• Assist VAT reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) regulations.

• Verify VAT calculations and ensure proper documentation for reclaimable VAT.

• Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and submit VAT returns promptly.

The scope of the roles and responsibilities may expand or be varied depending on the needs of the Company’s business to adapt to changing market conditions.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

AAT qualified/part qualified in ACCA or CIMA

Minimum 3 years including supervising credit control and financial accounting.

Experience in SAGE, advanced knowledge in spreadsheets, and advanced knowledge in ERP software.

Minimum years of 2-3 experience in a reputable company
