Electrical Technician Workshop/Field (electronics bias)

As a technical support/workshop technician, you’ll be required to support ongoing field operations reporting to the head of operations including installation, 1st & 2nd line maintenance, remote trouble shooting and training of company products. When not engaged in client support activities, engineering support will be provided to the production team reporting to the head of production including but not limited to the building, assembly and testing of electronic components based on technical specifications.

The ideal candidate will have a multi disciplined knowledge of engineering with a predominantly electronic/electrical bias.

Responsibilities

* Carry out the installation and maintenance of company products

* Respond to and provide solutions to customer issues relating to company products

* Ensure all technical issues are documented on the company case management system

* Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use.

* Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems

* Develop or upgrade preventative maintenance and production procedures for components, equipment, parts, or systems.

* Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations

* Work closely with the Production and Operations manager to identify, manage and rectify customer equipment and production issues

* Communicate all findings and issues at department meetings

* Manage relationships with key operations vendors and customers

Experience

* Minimum 3 years engineering background with experience in electronics production

Education

* HNC/ONC or NVQ level 3

* Recognised apprenticeship
