Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Retrack Personnel Holdings Limited. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing control systems and electrical assemblies for complex and critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems and electrical assemblies for various industries, including oil & gas, renewable energy, and utilities.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain reliable software for PLC, HMI, and other devices.
  • Create clear and accurate technical documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct practical functional tests, reliability tests, and user trials to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Ensure electrical and controls compliance with international markets and standards.
  • Investigate change requests using a thorough and methodical approach.
  • Drive continuous improvement of product reliability and durability.
  • Develop control system designs, including hardware and software solutions using PLC, SCADA, and embedded systems.
  • Prepare detailed hardware and software designs, liaise with vendors and suppliers, and document project specifications.
  • Provide on-site customer support and collaborate with client representatives to develop system designs.
  • Manage project engineering tasks, including maintaining awareness of commercial project costs.

Person Specification:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases.
  • HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Expertise in writing PLC programs using Ladder Logic, FBD, or Structured Text.
  • Knowledge of electrical/machine legislation and British/European/international standards.
  • Familiarity with design for assembly and serviceability.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required.
  • Strong communication skills with both external and internal customers.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality results and performance.
