A household name in building services engineering is searching for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to join their team in the heart of Manchester. Joining a national team of 16 and a team of 6 in Manchester, you would be hands on with the delivery of a range of sustainable design services including:

Embodied Carbon Assessments & WLCA
Green Building Certifications

Role Overview
The role will see you take responsibility for providing sustainability related consultancy services across the project life cycle, including technical analysis to support circular economy and net zero carbon strategies on complex projects within the commercial, educational, healthcare, labs & sciences and historic refurb sectors. They will have experience of the planning, design, and construction industries and associated processes, resulting in the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

With the team being made up of several people who hold an abundance of experience in certifications, this role favours someone with an expertise in Embodied Carbon & WLCA. Nevertheless, if your experience lies elsewhere, please don't hesitate to apply. The right profile of applicant will be someone who is not only comfortable being hands on with the technical deliverables of the projects but it is someone who can take a client on a journey right from the initial brief to establish a net zero and sustainable design strategy which can be executed and ultimately built.

Ideal Requirements

5+ years of relevant experience working in the field of sustainability, with specific experience of sustainability design consultancy
The ability to take responsibility in leading and delivering projects, coordinating and managing input from more junior members of the team
Demonstrable evidence of developing sustainable design strategies in a built environment context
Experience delivering Life Cycle Assessments and Whole Life Carbon Analysis
Experience delivering Green Building Certifications including BREEAM, WELL, Fitwel etc. (Desirable but not essential)
