Job Description: 

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our newly formed systems architecture and engineering team responsible for defining our future architectures and systems. 

The Role:

This is a key role in the where the right individual will not only be instrumental in the development of a range of range of exciting products for high-profile applications but will also work to shape Cosworth’s engineering processes to incorporate best practices in systems engineering.

You will be working to translate the visions of the product team and our customers into clear and verifiable requirements that the engineering and validation teams can use to create high quality products that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities: 

Working with the product team to elicit product requirements, ensuring completeness, correctness, and absence of conflicts with other requirements.

Supporting the bid process through analysis of customer requirements in the context of existing Cosworth technology.

Development and management of system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Decomposition of requirements in conjunction with architects and domain specialists.

Identifying and maintaining bidirectional traceability within the requirements as well as between requirements and the design artefacts that satisfy those requirements.

Supporting development of test plans used for verification and validation, ensuring total coverage of requirements.

Working with the engineering team to develop high level system design documents.

Contributing to design reviews and presenting material in specialist areas.

Contributing to the development of Cosworth’s systems engineering and requirements management capability.

Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.

Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile: 

Full understanding of the system engineering lifecycle and V-model.

Experience in authoring and managing requirements using tools such as Siemens Polarion and IBM DOORS.

Skilled in creating system designs by appropriately allocating functionality between hardware, firmware and software based on experience within one or more of these fields.

Ability to clearly articulate design intent using design documents, block diagrams, flow diagrams and system level schematics.

Experience in the development of complex embedded systems in the automotive or similar industries.

A methodical thinker with an eye for detail.
Desirable Skills:

Working knowledge of multiple software platforms: e.g., AUTOSAR, Embedded Linux, Android, RTOS.

Experience working with embedded microprocessors and/or microcontrollers.

Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering and related standards and tools such as UML, SysML, Sparx EA, Rhapsody.

Understanding of different vehicle network technologies
