About the role:

As a SEN-TA - Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist, you'll provide crucial support to ASD students in Key Stage 1 and 2. Responsibilities include one-on-one assistance, behavior management, IEP support, and fostering communication skills.

The recruitment process involves face-to-face interviews and potential trial days. The class comprises students with varied SEN, including ASD, many with EHCPs. Your role is pivotal in creating an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Application Requirements:

• Experience:

Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential.

• Education:

A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a related field is preferred.

• Patience and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to be patient, empathetic, and understanding towards the needs of children with ASD.

• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• One-on-One Support: Provide dedicated one-on-one assistance to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.

• Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 classrooms, ensuring an inclusive learning environment that supports all students.

• Behavior Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and conducive learning atmosphere.

• Individualised Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to develop and implement IEPs for students with ASD.
