Unique School Solutions are working in partnership with a primary school in Rotherham (S63) to recruit a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to start in September 2024 temporary this role could become permanent following a successful probation period.
This Teaching Assistant role is 27.5 hours per week with an additional 5 hours of SMSA cover during lunch time. The total hours for the role is 32.5.
The school

The role
* Working withing a KS1 class of students.
* To complement the professional work of Teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under the agreed system of supervision.
* Planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/ group or short-term for whole classes.
* Monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils’ achievement, progress and development.
* Assess the need of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning.
* Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
* Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.
* Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
* Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
* Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement and self-reliance.
The candidate will have
* GCSE Maths & English at grade C (or equivalent).
* Recent experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school.
* Experience of using the phonics programmes.
* Training in relevant learning strategies e.g literacy or curriculum or learning need.
* Good understanding of child development and learning processes.
* A pragmatic ‘can do’ approach to tasks.
