Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our team. This role involves providing innovative engineering solutions that address complex energy challenges, focusing on large-scale heat pumps and solar PV systems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to major industrial decarbonisation and engineering transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a UK-based development team, managing 3-5 direct reports.
Drive innovation in developing energy systems and take the lead technical role in complex projects.
Oversee key project development metrics, ensuring commercial content meets requirements.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Manage project development budgets and ensure feasibility and concept design processes.
Monitor the development team to ensure project portfolio meets key indicators.
Allocate team workload, monitor resources, and ensure business and project objectives are maintained.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure projects meet programme, cost, quality, and safety targets.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, Materials, or Chemical Engineering (B.Eng./M.Eng./MSc) or HND with relevant experience.
Good understanding of CDM Regulations.
IOSH or NEBOSH General Certification.
Familiarity with industry standards (CIBSE Regulations, British Standards, ISO, etc.).
Proven track record in detailed project development reports for multi-technology industrial and commercial energy solutions.
Experience in managing Health and Safety, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Ability to analyze and solve stakeholder and client issues.
Sound commercial understanding and recognition of wider impacts of actions and decisions.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Knowledge of the process industry and/or building services sector of the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of private/public sector & commercial procurement
