Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a thick skinned and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join this supportive PRU in Westminster. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September for the full academic year and there is also an opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

The School:

The school supports children from Westminster primary and secondary schools with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been allocated that can offer them the resources they need to develop and grow. A high number of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Class sizes are therefore smaller with up to six pupils per class and there is a high staff-to-pupil ratio so that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policy
Supporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities
Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management skills
Patience and resilience
An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
Legal right to work in the UK
