Design Engineer

* Varied design opportunity within a sheet metal fabrication environment. A mix of both 3D and 2D CAD design.

* £40,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

* Well established manufacturer who are a market leader within their industry.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer or CAD Engineer or Draughtsperson to support the 3D and 2D design of Sheet Metal products. Excellent business with a strong reputation for retaining staff and offering stability. The position has been created due to securing ongoing projects across a range of sectors.

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 as a guide.

This Design Engineer job will suit:

* Experience working within the sheet metal sector.

* CAD Design experience using SolidWorks for 3D models, and RADAN for tasks such as nesting.

* Capable of reading engineering drawings.

* An understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes and how they may impact designs.

The Design Engineer job will involve:

* Taking ownership of small to large projects by producing 2D layout/section drawings for customer approval.

* Using SolidWorks for 3D modelling of products.

* Creating a manufacturing pack consisting of drawings, flat patterns and nests using RADAN software.

* Producing manufacturing drawings and liaising with colleagues on the shop floor to ensure components are value engineered for a cost-effective solution.

* Taking effective instructions from both suppliers and clients in order to deliver the project within the set timeframes.

This job is commutable from Coalville, Leicester, Ashby, Derby, Castle Donington, Nuneaton.
