Success Recruit are currently working with a UK supplier whose offices are located on the outskirts of Braintree. They are seeking a remote Accounts Assistant to join their remote, hardworking, and friendly team.

The successful Accounts Assistant will be confident supporting with purchase ledger and credit control duties, supporting the wider accounts team with adhoc duties as requested. This position has opportunities to develop with further responsibilities over time as the business continues to grow.

The successful Accounts Assistant will be expected to:

* Have experience within an account’s environment, ideally PL and CC

* Have excellent attention to detail

* Be willing to learn remotely and happy to develop as the position allows

Job Specification

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of the Accounts Assistant will be to manage the purchase invoice (approx. 200 invoices monthly) and credit control for one business within this group.

Duties to include:

* Entering of Purchase invoices for stock and non-stock items.

* Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger.

* Creating payment runs within due dates for suppliers in the UK and China.

* Making sure that purchase invoices are approved.

* Monitoring entries in the GRNI and chasing to complete them.

* Reconciling supplier statements at month-end.

* Clearing disputes with suppliers in a professional manner.

* Liaising with internal staff to ensure timely clearance of invoices.

* Engaging with customers to successfully collect overdue debts and report any issues to management/credit insurers highlighting potential bad debts.

* Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the Sales Ledger – reviewing the aged receivables and resolving outstanding queries.

* Any ad hoc tasks as requested by the finance department.

This is an excellent position for a hardworking individual keen to develop their experience within accounts and with the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as the position develops. Working from home most of the time, the successful Accounts Assistant will enjoy taking accountability of their workload whilst also communicating effectively with internal and external contacts.

Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:30am to 5:00pm; Friday 8:30am to 2:30pm

Salary: £25-28k – Home based with occasional office working upon meeting days approx. 1-2 a month
