gap technical are proud to be representing this Food manufacturing business in their search for a Health and Safety to work at their facility based near - Wigan.

Performance Objectives

Policy Development: Create, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards. Develop mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
Training & Education: Develop and deliver training for employees on health and safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of equipment.
Incident Management: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses. Document findings, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility complies relevant health and safety regulations. Maintain records and reports as required by law.
Safety Culture: Promote a culture of safety across the organization. Engage employees at all levels to participate in safety initiatives and programs.
Health & Safety Committee: Lead the Health & Safety Committee, facilitating regular meetings and follow-up on action items.
SSOW - Implement / Review SSOW as requiredPerson Specification

NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role within the food manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other relevant health and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health & safety management software.
Ability to conduct training and presentations effectively.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.Apply
