About the role:

Join our dynamic team as a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in managing challenging behaviors, including violent outbursts. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives, providing one-on-one support and implementing tailored strategies. Collaboration with teachers and the SENCO team ensures a holistic approach to student development. The role entails fostering positive relationships with parents, promoting a supportive partnership in the educational journey. Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviors
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors.
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The application closing date will be announced upon receipt of a suitable number of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviors, implementing tailored strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement in learning.
• Assist the class teacher in implementing behavior management techniques and interventions, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
• Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to facilitate effective communication and behaviour management.
• Support students in developing social skills and emotional regulation techniques, empowering them to self-regulate and manage their behaviour independently.
• Collaborate closely with teachers as well as parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and behavior, and seeking input on home-based strategies to reinforce positive behaviour.
