Vision for Education are recruiting for a Humanities Teacher for an alternative provision in Blackburn to start ASAP on a full-time, long-term basis. Pay will be from £140 to £220 per day.

About the role

This teaching role involves teaching groups of children with challenging behaviours in an alternative provider in Blackburn. The requirements will be teaching across the Humanities subjects (Geography, History and R.E) across Key Stages 3 and 4,

You will hold substantial knowledge of working with young people with barriers to learning and will be able to inspire and nurture pupils to their highest level of learning. You will also be responsible for organising the supporting staff in the classroom.

Your daily routine will involve continuously adapting and working alongside pupils to make their time in school as beneficial and productive as possible. Your main objective will be to support these pupils with this, as well as making sure they are not displaying any triggers or any signs of unease. Adaptability, patience and an resilient attitude will be key to success in this role.

Their main aim is to offer the best possible quality of learning to pupils with a tailored curriculum to the individual students across their classes.

The role will initially be a temporary role via agency, leading to a permanent contract directly with the school following a qualifying period.

The role is also suitable for ECTs.

About the school

They support diverse group of pupils with a range of complex behavioural needs. They are continually seeking quality passionate staff members, who with additional experience and training may eventually become full time or even supply staff members.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Humanities Teacher you will:

Have previous experience of working with children or young people in a PRU or AP setting.
We must be able to obtain valid references from these roles.
Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service.
Hold a PGCE in a Humanities subject.
Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Salary

£140 to £220 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Main Teacher Pay Scale (MPS/UPS)
Relevant experience in the past few years working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
