Payroll & Pensions Specialist

Adecco is proud to be working in partnership with a proactive and innovative education provider to recruit a Payroll & Pensions Specialist to join their team on a temporary basis. You will be responsible for supporting a range of payroll and pension activities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organisation and play a vital role in payroll and pensions management.

Contract: temporary contract until March 2025, ideally to start immediately.

Full time with hybrid working available (3 days in the office per week)

Location: Uxbridge

Salary: circa £20-£26 per hour

As the Payroll & Pensions Specialist, you will have the following key duties and responsibilities:

Act as the first point of contact for complex payroll and pensions queries, providing support to the Payroll Team on standard queries.
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all staff in accordance with employment terms, financial regulations, and legislation.
Complete monthly payroll processes and reviews, establishing an audit trail and obtaining sign-off.
Create and submit monthly bac's files to the Finance Department within the scheduled pay dates.
Assist in implementing revised rates of pay, variable allowances, and payment & deductions in line with national rates.
Support annual audits of payroll processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with tax year changes and updates.
Manage the recovery of salary overpayments, communicate with employees, and conduct ongoing monthly monitoring.
Deliver effective and timely pensions administration, overseeing all pension schemes offered by our client, including provision of information and assistance to employees.
Collect and reconcile monthly and annual returns for various pension schemes, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.Candidate Requirements:

Demonstrable experience of working in a payroll and pensions role ideally within a similar environment.
Previous experience using the payroll system Unit4 would be preferable.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and statutory requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
Strong communication skills and the ability to handle complex queries.
Proficient in payroll and pension software and systems.
