Tomato Plant Ltd are looking for an Payroll Clerk working at our operational depot located at 50 Wallingford Road, Uxbridge, UB8 2SR.

The working hours would be 08:00am to 16:00pm on a Monday and Tuesday weekly to support our payroll processing to Howard Hutton payroll provider both weekly and monthly. Depending on need there may be a need for further hours, likely on a Friday as point of liaison for driver/operative timesheet submission for processing the following week.

The role will provide full payroll processing for predominately the Tomato Plant business but may be required to cover 2 other small sister businesses. The business employs approximately 50-60 people and the majority of the payroll is paper driven from weekly timesheets. This is submitted to our payroll provider within a time constraint every Tuesday.

The key activities provided by this role will include but not limited to:
- Maintaining payroll information by collating, calculating and entering data.
- Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such as job title changes, exemptions and saving deductions
- Receipt of all timesheets and check off and chasing missing information or submissions.
- Validate information provided on timesheet submission relating to job assignment information additional payments approval etc. signed off with appropriate line manager.
- Regular audits of hours worked via review of vehicle tracker or another designated system. Any anomalies to be identified and reviewed with the appropriate line manager.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering any employee payroll queries
- Summarise payroll information into submission report to payroll provider (Excel) by due deadline every Tuesday.
- Regularly review and confirm pay rate details are current and correct.
- To be methodical and detailed orientated with excellent communication skills; with excellent organizational skills; be able to engage effectively with people at all levels.; demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and be able to adapt and take on new skills and approaches; demonstrate confidentiality and topmost respect for the privacy of data.

The applicant must be able to use desktop PC systems to manage effectively and develop reporting systems with excellent Microsoft office skills.
