My client is a UK technology company and project developer dedicated to providing solutions to the challenges of Net Zero in the production of biofuels.

This role is to support the operations, ongoing engineering development and maintenance of the Compressed BioMethane (CBM) plants in Swindon

Key Responsibilities – Plant/Process Technician

Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments, and help develop these safe methods of work where they do not exist.
Full understanding of the CBM operation and process and a good understanding of the distributed control system, local controllers, and manual operations.
Monitor and report progress.
Support plant maintenance activities.
Update and maintain accurate records, including audits, inspections, maintenance records, calibration records, plant operations data, turnaround data, documents and drawings relating to the plant. Collating and logging all information appropriately as agreed.
Measure and record quantities/qualities of all materials produced (including slag, metal, air pollution control residue, effluent, bed sand and other wastes) using in-house laboratory techniques and equipment (including XRF, carbon analysis) and external test agents where necessary/cost effectiv
Prepare additives for the process plant based on predicted requirements.
Contribute to the engineering design, development and implementation of new and existing equipment, and comply with the needs of the change management process for the plant.
Ensure the working environment is safe and in a clean condition, including organising periodic cleaning of operational and welfare areas.
Use of the stock management system to ensure that key stocks and consumables are maintained at appropriate levels, reporting any stock shortage or equipment failures or other deficiencies in a timely manner to permit early resolution.
Preparation of and recording quantities of all materials needed (inc. chemicals, gases and feedstocks), reporting any deficiencies in a timely manner to permit early resolution.
Recording quantities of all waste materials produced (including slag, APC residue, effluent, bed sand and others), co-ordinating with the Plant Manager for their safe storage and disposal.
Qualifications & Experience – Plant/Process Technician

Familiarity with waste, energy-from-waste, or process environments.
Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls or Mechanical qualifications, experience or skills
Competency in hot works.
Experience in similar operational environment
NEBOSH H&S at Work (or equivalent)
Qualified under site Safety Rules to appropriate levels.
Confined Space
