Initial 3 month contract

Reporting to the Building Control Manager, the council are looking for a Building Control Surveyor to implement and enforce current Building Regulations and legislations to deliver Building Control services throughout the borough and promote the service delivery of building control achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Your Role as a Building Control Surveyor:

Examine deposited plans to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
To implement the development of inspection schedules and attendance during the progression of works, ensuring compliance with building regulations.
To investigate, report and enforce where necessary of unauthorised or contravening works.
To detect, investigate and report dangerous structures and enforcement where required
To identify necessary demolition works and ensure conformity with associated notices.

Your Previous experience as a Building Control Surveyor:

Relevant RICS accredited degree/HNC or equivalent.
Registered as a Building Control Inspector at Class 2 or above.
Ability to supervise others to a high degree and assist with growth and development.
Knowledge of non-restricted functions and activities.
Ability to tailor your approach to each conversation appropriately with Customers to SLT.
