Are you passionate about safety and sustainability? Ready to make a real difference in our energy future? At CWA, we're at the forefront of building Sizewell C, a groundbreaking 3.2-gigawatt power station set to deliver low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes for at least 60 years. We’re on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety (H&S) Advisor to join our dynamic team.
About the Role:
As an H&S Advisor at our Suffolk office, with regular site visits required, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and providing Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) input from design through to implementation. You will support the broader HS&E agenda, ensuring that governance, compliance, and legal obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct planned project inspections and pre-work site evaluations to mitigate potential risks.
Track, review, and support the investigation of unplanned events.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and local management, attending crucial meetings and working groups.
Prepare detailed reports following site visits, inspections, and audits.
Ensure compliance with the Business Management System (BMS) and emergency planning protocols.
Stay updated on new and revised legislation, assessing its impact on the business.
Promote a positive Health & Safety culture through effective communication and training sessions.
Assist in delivering the Behavioural Safety Programme and promoting safe driving behaviours.
Your Profile:
Essential Qualifications:
NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
Skills:
Competence in incident investigation, strong understanding of the UK Health and Safety Regulatory Framework, and ability to prepare formal reports.
Experience:
Broad experience in complex construction and civils projects, including specialist operations such as lifting, working at height, and excavations.
Desirable:
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Tunneling experience is a plus.
