NEC ECC Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced NEC ECC Supervisor to join our Major Projects Team within the Capital Delivery Service. This role involves working closely with the NEC Project Manager and Client Project Manager to foster a collaborative environment that ensures timely and budget-aligned project delivery in accordance with the Contract.

About the Role:

Our clients have recently secured funding through the Government’s Active Travel scheme and the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements programme as of June 2024. Potential schemes include:

* The Heatons Link Phase 2: Includes 2km of path improvements and is part of the wider Heatons Cycle Link, a 6.5km route.

* The Ladybrook Valley Project: Provides a 1.1km missing link in an existing 11km route.

* Romiley to Stockport East: Combines Romiley Crossings and Romiley to Stockport projects to create a new walking and cycling link.

* Hempshaw Lane Scheme: Enhances bus user experience with more accessible bus stops and improved pedestrian infrastructure.

* Woodley to Bredbury Parkway Improvements: Upgrades active travel infrastructure within the Woodley neighborhood, boosting local walking and cycling connectivity.

Responsibilities:

The primary function of the role is to undertake the duties of the NEC ECC Supervisor in accordance with the NEC Engineering & Construction Contract. Additional responsibilities include:

* Ensure that all construction activities comply with project specifications and quality standards.

* Coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the project management team.

* Foster a collaborative environment and engage with stakeholders across various levels, including the general public.

* Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.

* Attend and contribute to site meetings, providing updates on site activities and progress.

* Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, inspection reports, and safety records.

* Prepare and submit regular progress reports.

* Ensure that all site activities comply with the contractual terms and conditions.

* Assist in managing change orders, compensation events, and other contractual issues.

* Supervise contractors on site and verify valuations for completed works.

Requirements:

* Experience working on local authority schemes and highways and transportation infrastructure projects, including walk/cycle schemes.

* Ability to manage multiple projects (up to five at any one time) with construction values ranging from £100k to £5m.

* Relevant NEC contract and/or professional qualifications are advantageous.

* Strong awareness of project and financial management, with the capability to contribute to project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls effectively.

* Knowledge of CDM, health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure all projects comply with legal standards and best practices.

* Valid driving license and business insurance.

* Appropriate level of CSCS Card or NEBOSH certification
