Position Overview:
As a General Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our water site projects. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and managing a team of skilled workers to deliver projects on time and within budget. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in water infrastructure projects to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Coordinate and supervise the activities of site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues and ensure smooth project execution.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material usage, and labour hours.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of project tasks and resources.
Provide training and mentoring to site staff, promoting professional development and a positive work culture.Qualifications:
Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in water site or civil engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices specific to water infrastructure.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
In-depth understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
Relevant certifications and licenses, such as CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
