About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Foreman to join our team at AmcoGiffen, working on a variety of rail infrastructure building and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement the successful delivery of a portfolio of Midland Mainline structures interventions projects as part of the route electrification enabling works.
  • Ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of employees and others under their direct control through compliance with the requirements of the Supervisors Health and Safety Responsibility Statement.
  • Ensure that all company and client Health &Safety and Environmental initiatives are effectively implemented.
  • Report any unsafe practices and promote a continuous improvement culture and the use of best practice.
  • Effectively lead, supervise, utilize and monitor Direct and Subcontract Labour Force.
  • Deliver works within programme and to budget, ensuring that the works are executed in accordance with the requirements of:
  • Ensure that Quality standards are achieved and are 'right first time'.
  • Monitor the progress of the works to ensure contract objectives are being met.
  • Identify, agree, implement and effectively manage changes to the scope of works.
  • Maintain robust records, including diaries, allocation sheets, and plant.
  • Provide formal reports on progress to the Project Manager/Site Agent.
  • Pass relevant issues that cannot be resolved at site level for the attention of the Project Manager/Site Agent.
  • Identify and implement training needs for directly employed operatives employees under their control.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you will have previous experience as a General Foreman in a rail and civil engineering contracting environment, ideally with experience of delivering Bridge re-construction projects.

  • PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
  • Experience as a General Foreman in a rail contracting environment.
  • Experience in rail working on civils associated projects.
  • Experience of large structures including rail bridge re-constructions.
