Are you passionate about supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in a specialised school environment? We are currently looking for Positive Behaviour Support Assistants to join a dedicated team at a Special School in Newham. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact by providing positive behaviour support and personalised education to children with SEND.
What You’ll Do as a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant:
Provide in-class support to students as assigned.
Observe and record pupil progress and behaviours.
Communicate with parents and document incidents using Behaviour Watch.
Participate in school CPD sessions, briefings, and professional development.
Respond to calls when a student is dysregulated and provide 1:1 support as needed.
Create and implement resources like “now and next” boards to support learning.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience and understanding of Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties.
A strong appreciation for positive behaviour support methods.
A commitment to delivering high-quality care and support to children with SEND.
Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and evolving school with a skilled, specialist staff team.
