Business Analyst – Leading UK Children’s Services Provider – 12 month fixed term contract.

Mainly remote homeworking with very occasional travel to the company’s offices in West Sussex or the Midlands.

My client who is a leading nationwide Children’s Services provider have a wonderful opportunity for a highly motivated, friendly and supportive Mid-level Business Analyst for a 12 month maternity cover. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Business Analyst who would like to utilise their business analysis skills and commercial acumen to bring about positive change to help the lives of young people and families across the UK.

In this Business Analyst position you will support the delivery of software solutions through the accurate translation of business needs into requirements consumable by the software development team, in-line with agreed practices and under the direction of the company’s Software Development Manager. You will work with business stakeholders to define requirements, features and improvements and to understand and describe the impact of change to the business and systems. You will also ensure that deliverables are appropriately documented, are comprehensive, consistent, accessible and are appropriate to achieve the intended operational benefits.

This is a great role working as part of this nationwide company’s dynamic team supporting business stakeholders, the development team and reporting teams on projects, ensuring smooth operations and project delivery, working amongst a team of experienced and enthusiastic developers and subject matter experts who provide software solutions to Children Services around the country.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave and will be working mainly remote however there will be the very occasional need to work from the company’s offices in Worthing, West Sussex or Leicester for induction, training and meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, managing, and running workshops, interviews, and prototyping sessions.

• Requirements gathering and analysis for projects through the full requirements life cycle, including functional and non-functional requirements.

• Production of functional specifications and other project documentation.

• Supporting teams in development, testing and implementation - driving agile software development.

• Support the development team on managing scope change and requirements during implementation.

• Assisting business in UAT and readiness for any changes.

• Adhere to the regulatory conduct rules.

KEY SKILLS

• Strong influencing skills and proven stakeholder management experience.

• Experience in requirements gathering from various stakeholder groups, such as interviews and workshops.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences, sometimes acting as a "translator" between parties.

• Solid experience of delivery using Agile, Waterfall (or Hybrid) project management methodology with Scrum software development experience desirable.

• Excellent documentation skills to capture good user stories, Epics, and good product backlog – including maintenance and scope changes.

• Creating Functional and non-functional specifications and technical documentation.

• Experience of change management, and the ability to introduce and embed positive change. Successful translation of business requirements into user stories for the development team.

• Successful reviews with stakeholders in delivering value to the business.

• Self-organised and collaborative. Able to work alone or within an Agile Team, escalating/reporting risks and issues in timely manner.

Technical Skills

• Familiar with collaborative project tools like Azure DevOps.

• Competent on O365 applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).

• Use of Figma or other prototyping tools.

• Exposure to RDBMS and ability to use SQL desirable
