About the role:
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?
Do you have experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) with a specialism in challenging behaviours in Harrow, London.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviours, ideally within a primary school setting.
• Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Understanding of SEN best practices, behaviour management techniques, and safeguarding procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support for Students: Provide tailored support to students with challenging behaviours, ensuring their safety and promoting their emotional and social development.
• Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, adapting activities to meet the specific needs of each child.
• Classroom Assistance: Support the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
• One-on-One Support: Work on a one-to-one basis with students as required, offering additional help with their learning activities and behavioural strategies.
