Job Purpose of the Transport Controller:

Responsible for managing the execution, direction, and coordination of all transportation matters within the organisation. Understanding Operational restrictions including management of transportation of sequenced stock and liaising with customer to ensure best possible customer service.

Main Responsibilities as the Transport Controller

Provide excellent customer  service
Coordination of collection of goods
Preparation of Transport and customer documents
Ensuring compliance
Inputting despatch information into GTS
Escalates any issues with delivery to manager and customer and update and amend planning schedule when necessary
Creation of orders, documentation
Liaising with multiple departments through supply chain and warehouse, to make sure stock is despatched correctly
Investigate routes for transport and customer destinations
Making sure all admin is inputted correctly, and kept up to date
Keeping up to date with driver compliance, WTD, Tacho, driver’s hours legislation
All other associated tasks
Key requirements:

Experience in a similar position
A good understanding of transport regulations, compliance, and fleet management.
Proven experience in transport/Logistics
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
Computer literate – with a good knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
Strong communication (verbal and written)
Customer focused.
Working hours

Monday to Friday 
Rotating shifts, 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm
Salary £27,(Apply online only) plus shift allowance
