About the role

Connex Education is working with a Secondary School in Middlesbrough who are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work full- time during term time. This role is an immediate start.

About the school

The Teaching Assistant role is based in a successful secondary school which is part of a multi academy trust in the Middlesbrough area. The school provide first class education to their students and have an excellent faculty who create a culture of success.

Assignment Details

As a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school, your key responsibilities will include, Providing in-class support to teachers, working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and ensure engagement. Managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment as well as contributing to progress monitoring. Excellent communication skills, curriculum knowledge, and a passion for supporting student learning and development are essential for succeeding in this flexible, supply-based teaching assistant role.

Person Specification

Experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Level 2/3 Teaching assistant qualification
Must be 21 or over
Must have UK school based experience
Knowledge of child development and learning needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must hold a DBS on update service or willing to apply for one. 
Patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt lessons as needed.
Good organization and multitasking abilities
