Location – Whitby

Castle Employment Group are working in partnership with an independent restaurant on the coast that is commutable from Whitby, Guisborough & Saltburn. They are recruiting a Sous Chef to support the experienced Head Chef in delivering a fresh high-volume service all year round

You will be paid hourly which would equate to a salary of up to £15.00 per hour and you are paid for every hour you work You will also benefit from an equal share of the tips paid weekly, meals whilst you are working, uniform is provided, and parking is available on site.

We are wanting to speak to candidates with a strong Sous Chef background that are skilled not only in delivering fresh produce in a high-volume environment, but someone who has kitchen management experience. You would be expected to work up to 48 hours per week but would be paid for every hour worked and ideally transport would be required due to the location of the restaurant.

Role:

Assist in production, monitoring and maintaining consistent food standards and quality across all areas and during all stages of production and service.
Be happy to work across all sections of the kitchen and across various day parts including lunch & dinner service.
To participate in the HACCAP procedure in accordance with the company’s Food Safety Management document. Maintain correct use of KRB, including cleaning rota and closing procedures. Ensure of KRB paperwork is stored correctly.
Purchase all food and food related products using company nominated suppliers.
Ensure stock rotation and use by dates to produce food are followed and that food is produced so not to contribute towards wastage.Requirements:

Experience in a fast paced, high volume restaurant environment
NVQ/City & Guild Qualifications
All round kitchen management experience
Food safety knowledge
