About the School

Our client, a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school in Rainham, Essex, is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team starting in September 2024. The Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs. In this role, you will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and other support staff to provide individualised support, ensuring each child can access the curriculum and make meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in delivering tailored learning activities to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Provide focused one-to-one and small group support, both inside and outside the classroom.
Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting self-confidence and independence in students.
Monitor and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Assist with any personal care and physical needs as required.
Collaborate with the entire school team to support the well-being and academic growth of all students.

Requirements

Experience working with children with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, or Special Educational Needs are highly desirable.
Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children with SEN.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
