Teaching Assistant for Reception Class - 1:1 Support

Position: Teaching Assistant
Location: Primary School, Borough of Haringey, North London
Start Date: September 2024

Reeson Education is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in a Reception class at a welcoming primary school in the Borough of Haringey. This role involves working closely with a child who has Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and requires a dedicated, attentive individual to support their daily learning and development.

Role Highlights:

1:1 Support: As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for offering personalised assistance to a Reception pupil with ASC, ensuring they feel supported and engaged throughout the school day.
Attention to Needs: The pupil can be quite needy, so your role will involve being particularly attentive to their emotional and educational needs.
Collaborative Environment: You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor learning experiences that help the child thrive.Key Responsibilities:

Provide focused 1:1 support to the pupil during classroom activities, playtime, and other school events.
Help the pupil navigate the school day, offering guidance and reassurance when needed.
Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and activities to suit the pupil's individual needs.
Monitor the pupil's progress, offering feedback and suggestions to improve their experience at school.Requirements:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant working with children with ASC is highly desirable.
A patient, compassionate approach with the ability to be attentive to the pupil's needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
