Monday - Thursday 07:45-16:30
Friday 07:45-12:00

Client Summary:
Working for a Manufacturer of Electrical AC & DC Switchgear

Position Summary:
Design Engineer - Responsible for supporting the Engineering Department with new product development and providing engineering support of switchgear for railway electrification

Roles can include:
* Work directly with the client to produce drawing, specifications and reports
* Use of AutoCAD to produce circuit diagrams, layouts, drawings and wiring schedules
* Use SCADA and PLC hardware/software concepts
* Preparing the full construction file for the manufacturing team
* Product design, including: equipment layouts, arrangements & technical specifications
* AC & DC Auxiliary Supply design
* System analysis, including load flow and fault studies
* Manage engineering activities such as design, development, materials and procurement

Person Profile/Experience:
* Clear and structured analytical thinking and excellent communication skills
* A sound electrical knowledge from either education or practical experience
* Previous experience within AC/DC Design
* Ideally you will have an HNC in an electrical or design discipline, if not an NVQ/C&G Level 3
