Electrical Design Engineer:

This role is for a skilled hands on Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to the conversion of industrial materials handling equipment, used in hazardous environments. You will have experience in working to Standards, and will have a background in automotive, marine or other vehicle electrics design.


As a hands on Electrical Design Engineer, you will be designing solutions for electrical systems to be integrated into existing mechanical and electrical vehicles and equipment, ensuring they meet ATEX requirements, using AutoCAD for the design, and working closely with technicians to ensure fit and suitability.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Produce design & project documentation
  • Selection of components for integration into original machine electrical systems
  • Specify test requirements to support compliance
  • Pre and post customer support
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to find solutions


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or HND qualified in electrical, electronic or automotive engineering
  • A minimum of 3 years' similar experience in MOD, Aerospace/Defence, vehicle or Marine sectors.
  • Proficiency in power and electrical design, including system design and component selection.
  • Ideally have familiarity with ATEX, Ex and/or IEC Ex
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD electrical
