Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Agent to oversee multiple highway projects around the Cambridge area. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading Tier 1 contractor on a variety of complex and challenging projects. The initial contract is for 3 months, with the potential for extension based on project requirements and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of multiple highway projects, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, on time, and within budget.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and work programs. Coordinate and manage the supply of materials, equipment, and labor.
Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Quality Control: Monitor and enforce quality standards, conducting regular inspections to ensure all work meets the required specifications and standards.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed progress reports, cost reports, and other project documentation as required.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, implementing effective solutions to keep the project on track.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience as a Site Agent or similar role in highway construction projects, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.
Qualifications: Relevant degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, CIOB) is desirable.
Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in project management software and tools.
Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of highway construction processes, health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
Certifications: Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid certification.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various project sites around Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
