Our client Bendalls Engineering is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Radiographer to join their team.
The primary responsibility of the Radiographer will be to ensure the integrity and safety of their welded products using advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as X-Ray and Gamma Radiation. You will play a key role in inspecting and analysing welds to identify any discontinuities or defects, ensuring they meet both national standards and our customers' regulatory requirements.
You will collaborate with a team of experienced quality inspectors to support quality control initiatives and contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the quality department.

Carr’s Engineering designs, manufactures, and services bespoke equipment, vessels, precision components and remote handling systems alongside providing specialist engineering services in the Nuclear, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport, Pharmaceutical and Renewable industries. They have over 120 years of experience and provide industry leading services to our portfolio of long-standing customers.
Location: CA3 0EH
Hours of Work: 40 hours, Mon-Thurs
Salary: £37k per annum, plus enhanced shift & overtime rates
Key responsibilities
* Performing radiography (x ray / gamma), interpret, and evaluate discontinuities or defects within welds against national and client standards.
* Address any technical issues that may arise.
* Quality Control.
* Technical Reporting.
* Connect with client inspectors to ensure seamless communication, alignment with project requirements, and timely resolution of any related matters.
* To communicate effectively through written reports and verbal interactions to document findings, observations, and recommendations.
* To participate in both in-house and external training programs.
* To carry out any other relevant task as requested.
What you need for the role
* NVQ in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
* PCN Level 2 minimum in Radiography / interpretation
* Prior exposure to heavy metal fabrication processes.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team structure.
* Security Clearance (they can complete these checks)
