Excellent opportunity for someone with confident experience in mechanical fitting to join a successful agricultural equipment manufacturer in York as an assembly supervisor. The role would suit someone who has confident mechanic skills ideally working with agricultural, plant, commercial, or domestic vehicles, and is able to lead a small team.

Duties:

Overseeing a team of skilled fitters producing agricultural equipment
Ensuring the team meets production targets and dealing with issues as they arise
Working from drawings to build agricultural machinery in the workshop
Delegating job tasks effectively to ensure productivity and a seamless process
Performing quality checks to ensure high standards
Working alongside your team to build, bolt, and rivet the machines
Working with hand, air, and power tools
Undertaking plumbing and wiring machines, using pipework hydraulics and electrical circuits
Ensuring health and safety standardsAs the Assembly Supervisor you will:

Ideally, come from a farming background and have knowledge of plant, agricultural, commercial or machinery, no formal qualifications are necessary
Be a practical hands-on person happy to work alongside your team
Be able to read and work on drawings
Have confident man management skills to lead and motivate your team to meet production targets
Have a strong work ethic, working alongside the team to complete tasks effectively
Be an excellent communicator, and a friendly team player with good problem-solving skillsDue to this company's rural location, you will need to hold a driving license and have your own transport.
